Obituary of Pat Ogburn
LUGOFF - Celebration of Life service for Patricia “Pat” Douglass Ogburn, 59, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, Camden with burial at 1:00 p.m. in the Town of Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson. Rev. Sheila Rogers and Rev. Nick Elliott will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.
Mrs. Ogburn died Sunday, April 11, 2010. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of Virginia Gardner Douglass and the late Daniel Henry Douglass, Jr. A 1971 graduate of the University of South Carolina, she was an avid Gamecock fan. A onetime secretary to the Kershaw County Legislative Delegation, Pat worked as a legal secretary for Holland, DuBose and Cushman and later retired from Ogburn and Associates. Pat demonstrated her love for Christ through her musical talents with the lives of the many children that she touched in the churches she faithfully served.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Derial Lee Ogburn; daughters and sons-in-law, Meredith O. and Doug Kirkland of Lugoff, and Lauren O. and Matt Downey of Lugoff; mother, Virginia Douglass of Lexington; two sisters; a brother; and lifelong friend, Margaret Victoria “Vicki” Thomas of Sarasota, Fla.
