Donnie was one the the truly unique people that we occasionally have the good fortune to meet and appreciate. There is a time for all things, but this loss to our community is too soon even though Donnie will always be fondly remembered, he will be missed more........................................... We send our sympathy to all the family, friends that have lost a great guy.

I met Donnie Sanders one summer when I was 10 years old and he would have been 20. I was staying with my uncle Buddy (Floyd Williams), Donnie's next door neighbor at the lake.
Every day with Donnie was an adventure. I do not believe that I have met a more kind, interesting and talented person in my life.
Several years ago uncle Buddy and I went over to Salt Pond to visit with Donnie.
I am now 52 years old.
It has been several years since I have thought of him.
I will never forget him.

I had to place another entry to let the family know what a beautiful service yesterday. I am sure Donnie in his own way would have been so very proud. Fuzz...you should be a public speaker-your brother was an amazing man...as you know. Don't feel guilt...sadly there is never enough hours to do what has to be done, what we want to do and love all the precious people that are so near and dear to us. I am sure that Donnie knew your love. You have an amazing family-love one another-hold tight to the memories they will give you comfort in the days to come. I will be praying for comfort to the family and know that you were truly blessed to have such a wonderful man to call brother, uncle, and friend.

Judy, although I haven't seen you or Donnie since before graduation from CHS, today I fondly recall those school days and attending Rainbow with you!
Donnie I remember and admired for his vibrant and fun-loving self. And my prevailing memory is that y'all were so dear to each other. Please know that you and your family will be in our Morrey prayers, especially in the coming days.

So many wonderful early childhood memories -- especially of Donnie's gentleness with his "collections" of wounded and lost creatures. His many talents were beyond description -- an amazing person! "God doesn't make them like that anymore." You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Donnie was one of those real friends and will be missed by all of us in Kershaw and Fairfield Counties who got to know him over the years. I was at Salt Pond earlier today and you could just feel his spirit was watching all of us. I know my dogs and the rest of us will truly miss him. Donnie was unique and no one can deny that. Hes in a better place now and I hope he's feeling no more pain.

Donnie was the first friend I ever had. 1969 we moved to the lake and I was 7 years of age. He was the most fascinating person I had ever met and I feel honored and proud to have called him friend. He knew so much and was always willing to share his love and knowledge with any who would sit and listen. I still have pieces of pottery he let me make as a child. He taught me his deep love for animals. I remember him calling the house to say there is a deer swimming in the cove. His quiet ways, the canoe, the potters wheel, the never ending stream of animals that needed him. As an adult, he was always just up the road at the store if I needed his help. His death saddens me deeply; as I am sure it does all who knew him. What a wonderful man. His legacy will live in others for as long as we all remember.

Donnie was my buddy, right from the start. I am also artistic, although Donnie’s knowledge and talent surpassed mine. He was my "go to" person for anything about art, animals or plants. I liked his gruff, straight-forward responses. You never had to guess what he was thinking or where you stood with him. He fussed over me like I was one of his own. I always greeted him with a hug and could squeeze a smile out of him even when he was in the grumpiest of moods. I’ll always think of him with a smile. I never realized how much of my everyday life involved Donnie, or how much of him I have in my own home. I loved Donnie, and am glad he knew it. I’m going to miss him terribly.

Once again a dear and cherished friend has left us, but I know he is resting now, until we are called to meet our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I will truly miss Donnie, He was there through all my projects, a very talented man indeed and truly cared about life. I pray we will see each other again and discuss projects again that will be greater than here on earth. My thoughts and prayers go to the family. My thoughts and prayers also go to Janice, Sam and David, I know there is an emptiness now, but our memory of Donnie will always go on. He has truly left a mark on our hearts. We have been truly blessed to have known him.
We love you Donnie

Donnie never failed to help me with any thing that I needed to "rig" for a project I was doing. He was a dear, kind man and we shared our love of animals many times. He will be greatly missed but I know he is enjoying animals in beautiful painted fields. Salt Pond will never be the same!

We were so saddened to hear of Donnie's passing. The Salt Pond with not be the same without him. We loved going in for feed and other items and seeing all the strays Donnie had collected (birds, cats, deer, pigs or whatever needed a home) We will miss talking about NASCAR and especially Bristol since both Donnie and Sam would like us attend each year. We are going to miss Donnie but know heaven is rejoicing to have Donnie home. Our prayers go out to all his family and Salt Pond family.

Donnie will be greatly missed by "all" who had the fortune and opportunity to share even a small portion of his life. I will miss my trips to Salt Pond to shop and ask Donnie's advice and opinion on almost any topic. I am so glad I needed animal feed this past Saturday and had the opportunity one last time to shop, get advise on my pasture and talk with Donnie a few minutes. I had no idea it would be my last time to see him. My thought and prayers are with Donnie's family.

Just imagine the scenery and all the beautiful wildlife he loved so much, and you will know He is truly happy. All of you will be in my prayers.
