LUGOFF - A memorial service for Ruby B. Godwin Powers, 96, will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Simmons will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Powers, wife of the late Grover Powers, died Friday, October 1, 2010. Born in Spring Hill, S.C. on December 11, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Walter James and Maggie Chewning Belvin. Surviving are her son, David Godwin (Linda) of Milton Freewater, Ore.; grandchildren, Mike Godwin and Scott Godwin, of Belvue, Wash.; great grandchildren Brittany Godwin of Richland, Wash. and Adam Stewart of Richland, Wash. and Heaven Godwin of Richland, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Mark Godwin; 3 brothers; and 6 sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Winds Assisted Living, P.O. Box 1382, Lugoff, SC 29078.
