On this day of our Lord, November 16, 2010, Jesus took our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grand pappy, Paul D. Nemire into heaven. Paul lived at 90 Smokewood Dr., Elgin, SC, 29045 for the past 4 years and was a member of the Harvest Baptist Church. Paul was born at his farm home in Pandora, Ohio on Feb. 14, 1939. He is the youngest son of Amza Harry and Violet Mary Nemire. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years, Anna Belle (Anne) Ankrum Nemire. His son, Randall Paul Nemire, spouse, Deb Stutzman Nemire of Napoleon, Ohio, A daughter, Tracy Anne Barker, spouse, Anthony Barker, of Fisher, Indiana and youngest daughter Tamey Lynn Nemire and fiancé Keith Studivant of Brunswick, Georgia. Seven grandchildren, Nathan Randall Nemire and wife Robin of Charlotte, NC; Nicholas Paul Nemire, wife Emily of Napoleon, Ohio; Tony Paul and Aaron Michael Barker, of Fisher, IN; Robert Michael McVay and wife Bari of Columbus, IN; Wesley Scott McVay, wife Desiree of Shelbyville, IN; and Stephany Lynn McVay Kaufman and husband Stephen Kaufman of Greenwood, IN. Nine great grandchildren, Grant Nathaniele and Cole Randall, sons of Nathan Nemire; Radiance Anne and Robert Michael, children of Robert McVay; Keynin Brey, Kayden Lea, and Ethan Paul, children of Wesley McVay, and Lukas DelRay and Adam Michael, sons of Stephany Kaufman. He also leaves behind his 2 older brothers, Vernon and wife Mary Lou Nemire of Stryker, Oh. and Russell and wife Ruth Ann Nemire of Sun City NV. He is preceded in the death of both parents and oldest brother, Ray. Paul and Anne lived in Napoleon, Ohio after they were married in 1958. In 1982, they moved to Glendale, AZ after all 3 of their children had graduated from high school. They had planned to make AZ. their retirement home after retiring, but when Paul was diagnosed with congenital heart disease he was told to retire at age 62. When Anne retired on Dec. 29, 2006 from Wells Fargo Bank, they decided to move back east to be closer to family and still be in a warmer climate. Paul worked as an auto mechanic and was well liked by his customers for his honesty and integrity. He always took care of their cars like it was his own. During those years he was awarded by Chevron with a check for continually giving his customers 100% customer service. He also was the first mechanic in the US to switch a fleet of 12 delivery trucks for Schwan’s Ice Cream from regular gas to propane gas which was more economic. Shortly after that, the rest of the Schwan’s trucks were switch throughout the United State. He also built a Red 1952 MG Roadster Convertible from a Volkswagen engine and frame. He had to re-engineer the engine to fit the car body and frame. He sure did love to drive that car and it sure was a beauty. He has spent the last 4 years here in SC, doing designer painting most of the rooms inside the new house, refinishing furniture and designing built-in shelves and cabinets inside the house. Most recently, replacing the kitchen and dining room floors with hardwood flooring and adding a sun room to the back of the house. In his spare time, he kept up with the landscaping. Paul was always happy when he was doing something. Even in his last days he had to have some project to work on. Viewing will be from 7 until 8:30 pm at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC on Friday, Nov 19, 2010. The funeral services will be held at the Harvest Baptist Church on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, all donations should be to your choice of the Heart Foundation or Kershaw County Hospice.
