ELGIN – Funeral service for James McDonald “Hoss” Rabon, 68, will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Ronald Taylor and the Rev. Ken Jackson will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mr. Rabon died Monday, August 22, 2011. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late James Furman and Jessie Mae Branham Rabon. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife, Bonnie J. Branham Rabon; son, James R. (Myra H.) Rabon of Elgin; sister, Lorraine Rabon (Michael) Perone of Smyrna, Tenn.; brother, Ernest C. (Frances H.) Rabon of Camden; and grandson, Jessy James Rabon of Pickens, S.C.
