Eastover – Graveside services for James Thomas Wilson, 62, will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery on Congress Rd in Eastover. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory. Mr. Wilson, known to friends and family as “Tommy”, passed away peacefully after a long struggle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family; his daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Gilbert Wilson and Mae Belle Blizzard Wilson. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He spent the majority of his life doing paint and body work, and was born with a God-given talent to paint a car better than most. His work was highly sought after for years in the Columbia area and he took great pride in his work. He leaves behind his only daughter, Kimberly (Charlie) Cook; grandchildren, Cody Wilson and Chasitie Wilson; great-grandchildren, Kendrick Zaragoza and Kingsley Zaragoza; sisters, Susie Smith and Rosie Mullen; brother, Isaac “Buddy” Wilson. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Broome, Loretta Davis, Lillie Mae Rogers and Barbara Hicks.
