Obituary of Frankie Matthews
COLUMBIA – Jesus said “I am the way and the truth, and the life; No one comes to the father but through me” John 3:16.
Frances Craft "Frankie" Matthews was born on February 4, 1957, to the late Lonnie L. Craft Sr. and Frances Hammond Craft, she entered in to the arms of her Lord and Savior on January 30, 2013.
She graduated from Dreher High School and from Orangeburg Medical School in 1994. She was a registered nurse and has previously worked at Palmetto Health Baptist and the SC Vocational Rehabilitation along with other medical facilities. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, she served as a Youth Sunday School leader, GA leader, VBS leader, and sang in the choir.
Services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Matthews who was her loving companion, rock and strength; daughter, Brandon N. Gaddis; granddaughter, Eden Gaddis whom she loved dearly; brother, Lonnie L. Craft Jr. (Linda); sisters, Jeannie Castine (Rusty), Vivian Sturgeon, Bootsie Gleaton (Mickey), Melody Hill (Jody); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family is assured today of her dwelling place in heaven and pray that all reading this would possess the same peace that surpasses all knowledge through Jesus Christ.
During her illness Mrs. Matthews received care from the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla. under the care of Dr. Robert P. Shannon and colleagues who the family wishes to express their sincere gratitude.
