CAMDEN – Funeral service for Edna Mae LaPatra, 84, will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Keith Coates will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to DeKalb Baptist Church, 2034 DeKalb School Rd, Camden, SC 29020. Mrs. LaPatra, wife of the late Luke LaPatra passed away at home on Saturday, July 9, 2016. Born in Kershaw County, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Ida Banks Branham. She was a member of DeKalb Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing and cooking. Surviving are her children, Kathleen Morris (Alton) of Camden, Danny Childers (Faith) of Camden, William Childers (Charlotte) of Camden, Janet Etters (Nathan) of Camden, and Sheri Baytes (Jeff) of Cassatt; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her first husband Willie Childers; 2nd husband, Willis Munn; son, Howard Childers; brother, Joe Banks; sister, Eva Gunn; and grandchild, Daryl Childers..
