LUGOFF - Graveside service for Quetene Sweatt, 74, will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Dr. Charles Everett will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 6:00 to 8:00 at Trinity Baptist Church, 1062 Ridgeway Rd, Lugoff, S.C with a time of remembrance to be held at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 664, Lugoff, S.C. Mrs. Sweatt died Wednesday, July 16, 2008. Born in Morganton, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Marion Luther Snipes and Naomi Mikeal Snipes. She was a founding member of Trinity Baptist Church where she served as a past Sunday School Director and member of the WMU. She was passionate about her service to the church. She was survived by her husband of 53 years, Burley James “Jim” Sweatt; children, Sheldon James Sweatt of Phoenix, Ariz., Angela Marie Windham and her husband, Joel Windham of New London, N.C., Robin Lynn Sweatt of Charlotte, N.C., and Roderick Marion Sweatt of Lugoff; brothers, Raymond Snipes of Morganton, N.C., Luory Snipes of Chesapeake, Va., and Gene Snipes of Morganton, N.C.; sisters, Gladys Parton of Morganton, N.C., and Sara Church of Longs, S.C.; and grandchildren, Alex Snavely, Claire Snavely, Derek Snavely, Solen Sweatt, Leah Sweatt, and Hunter Sweatt. She was predeceased by her brothers, Junior Snipes and Walter Snipes.
