Obituary of Thelma L. Durant
CAMDEN – Funeral services for Thelma Louise Durant, 74, will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Reverend Joe Stines and Reverend Billy Hughes will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Durant passed away July 16, 2016. Born in Lee County, SC, on September 16, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Orin Grooms and Hattie Mae Hall. Mrs. Durant was a seamstress and enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are her children, Cartha Osment of Camden, Charlene (Earl) Hinson of Elgin, Donnie (Deanne) Durant of Lexington and David Durant of Sumter; son-in-law, Joe Branham; grandchildren, Karen (Brad) Troublefield, April (Casey) Conover, William “Little Joe” (Whitney) Branham; 6 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Annie Threatt, Dale (Ronnie) Mays, Gail Caudill, Margie (Chris) Mitchell; brother, Paul (Joyce) Hall; sister-in-law, Tibby Logan. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter R. Durant, Jr.; daughter, Martha Ann Branham; great-grandson, Korbin Branham; brother, Tony Hall.
