CAMDEN – Funeral services for John Edward Harris, 66, will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Freddie Thomas will officiate. Mr. Harris passed away Monday, July 18, 2016. Born in Camden, he was a son of the late Bynum, Sr. and Alpha Taylor Harris. Mr. Harris served in the United States Army. He enjoyed reading, fishing, and fixing things. Surviving are his daughters, Jennifer Harris of Columbia, Angel Bowers (Roy) of Florida; siblings, Bynum Harris, Jr. (Judy) of Clarksville, TN, Omega Harris (Willia) of Columbia, Rose Davis of Camden, Margaret Hampton (Charlie) of Camden, Linda McBride (Glenn) of Buffalo, N.Y., and Michael Harris of Buffalo, N.Y.; 6 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephew, great nieces.
