Obituary of Larry Utley
LUGOFF- Funeral service for Larry Utley, 68, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
Mr. Utley died Thursday, July 17, 2008. Born in Henderson, Ky., he was a son of the late William Lee Utley and Margie Richardson Utley. He served in the United States Army and was a retired welder and correctional officer. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, deep sea diving, and fishing. He loved to read and spend time with his family and dog, McGraw.
He was a member of El-Bethel Faith Community Church.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jacqueline S. Utley; son, Larry Michael (Bonnie) Utley of Central City, Ky.; daughters, Tscharma Greathouse of Central City, Ky., and Edna Polley of Central City, Ky.; stepdaughters, Lisa (Claus) Spradley of Lugoff, and Kimberly (Calvin) Rose of Elgin; stepsons, Roger (Lisa) McKinley of Oblong, Ill., and Keith (Sharise) McKinley of Patoka, Ill.; brothers, William (Shirley) Utley of Joplin, Mo., Rick Utley of Cherokee, Kan., and Steve Utley of Evansville, Ind.; sister, Hilda Abell of Pensacola, Fla. grandchildren, Jacqueline S. Spradley and David S. Spradley of Lugoff, Heather Wooten and Jamie Moak of Elgin, and 10 other grandchildren out of state; and 2 great-grandchildren.
