CAMDEN – Funeral services for William Howard Barnes, 96, will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Lugoff Church of God, with burial to follow in Wateree Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Shirley and Rev. Tony Barnes will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5- 7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mr. Barnes died Sunday, February 10, 2013. Born in Sylva, NC, he was the son of the late Robert S. and Hattie Knight Barnes. He was a member of the Lugoff Church of God, and enjoyed fishing, boxing, and wrestling. Surviving are his sons, Rev. Larry Barnes (Patty) of Greensburg, PA, Rev. William Tony Barnes (Glenda) of Bishopville, Danny Barnes of Camden, Gary Barnes (Danita) of Camden; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Harry E. Barnes of Boiling Springs. He was predeceased by his first wife, Sybil E. Barnes; second wife, Essie Mae Barnes; grandchild, Erick Barnes; and brothers, Robert Barnes, and Alvin Barnes.
