Bruce L. Sloan, Jr. ELGIN – Funeral services for Bruce L. Sloan, Jr., 68, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Richland Children’s Hospital. Mr. Sloan passed away Wednesday, February 01, 2017. Born in Columbia, he was the oldest son of the late Bruce L. Sloan, Sr. and Kathleen Cornell Douglas Sloan. Mr. Sloan was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Barbara Ann Sloan; son, Jason Sloan (Dana) of Elgin, daughter, Nicole Sloan (Verne) of Elgin; grandchildren, Cameron Sloan and Wyatt Sloan; and a brother, Barry Sloan (Sharon) of Elgin. He was predeceased by a brother, Donnie Sloan.
