ELGIN - Funeral service for Leroy Brazell, 75, will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Spears Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Greg Sweet and the Rev. Everett Reconnu will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mr. Brazell passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017. Born in Blaney, he was the son of the late Jessie and Louvenia Coleman Brazell. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Spears Creek Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, basketball and was an avid Gamecock fan. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Evelyn Martin Brazell; daughters, Pamela Brazell Dunkin (Malcolm) of Lugoff and Barbara Brazell Kelly (Jerry) of Elgin; son, Charles Jessie Brazell (Trayci) of Eastover; brothers, Edward Brazell, Paul Brazell, Eugene Brazell and Lonnie Brazell; sister, Margie Glock; grandchildren, Brittany Morgan Rogers (Trey), Mary Evelyn Dunkin and Jessie Collin Brazell; and great-granddaughter, Riley Marie Rogers. He was predeceased by a son, Leroy Brazell Jr.; sister, Ruby Meetze; and brothers, Lindsey Brazell, Melvin Brazell, Jessie Brazell Jr. and Rufus Brazell.
