LUGOFF – Celebration of Life Service for David C. "Bill" Dixon Jr., 83, will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with burial to follow in Malvern Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Matt Galloway will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church. Mr. Dixon, husband of the late Marlene Frances Dixon, died Saturday, March 2, 2013. Born in Blaney, he was the son of the late David C. Dixon Sr. and Inez Ross Dixon. He retired from BF Goodrich as a mechanic and was a salesman for Redfearn Ford Motor Company. He was a charter member of Friendship Baptist Church. Surviving are his sons, Rev. Donnie Dixon (Peggy) of Lugoff, Ronnie Dixon of Lugoff, and Larry Dixon (Elaine) of Lugoff; brothers, Sam Dixon and Marion Dixon; sisters, Ollie Kirkland, Virginia Langley and Jackie Johnson; grandchildren, Kevin Dixon (Jennifer), Alyson McGugan (Billy), Mandy Harris (Donnie), Brad Dixon (Tiffany), and Brian Dixon (Lisa); and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, Jerry R. Dixon and David Wayne Dixon; and brothers, Ross Dixon and Carlee Dixon.
