ELGIN – Funeral service for Joyce Elaine West, 60, will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Bruce Watford will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a cancer charity of one’s choice. Mrs. West died Saturday, March 02, 2013. Born in Hazelhurst, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Otis Quitman and Montine Turpin Ray. She was former owner and operator of Joyce’s Country Kitchen and was a member of Crossway Church. Surviving are her husband of 16 years, Harold D. West; daughters, Cynthia Morris of Hazelhurst, Ga. and Tonya Waters of Hazelhurst, Ga.; son, Darrell Beecher of Baxley, Ga.; brother, Joseph Ray (Jennifer) of Hazelhurst, Ga.; sister, Patricia “Pat” (Ricky) Smith of Swainsboro, ga.; grandchildren, John Dykes, Steven Dykes, Justin Bohannon and Brittney Bohannon; and 2 great-grandchildren.
