DALZELL – Funeral service for John Wiley Boykin, 74, will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John United Methodist Church, Springhill, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. John United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund in Springhill. Mr. Boykin passed away at home on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Born in Lee County, he was the son of the late Willis Leroy and Vidaree Davis Boykin. He retired from DuPont where he was a Power Operator. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Rembert. Mr. Boykin was an avid sports fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Carlene Moore Boykin; daughter, Sherry Boykin Grainger (Billy) of Springhill; son, Wiley Boykin (Misty) of Springhill; brothers, Mitchell Boykin and Dwight Boykin; and grandchildren, Tyler Grainger, Kayla Boykin, and Hunter Boykin. He was predeceased by a brother, Philip Boykin.
