LUGOFF – A memorial gathering for Rodney J. Brown, 82, will be held Friday from 12-2 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation. Mr. Brown passed away May 16, 2017. Born in London, England, on July 26, 1934, he was the son of the late John Davies and Elsie Beddingham Brown. He was a leading aircraft mechanic in the Royal British Air Force. He was loved and respected by everyone he knew. Mr. Brown was a family man and was nicknamed, “Papa John”. Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret Rose Witham Brown; children, James Dean Brown and Susan (T.C.) Lee Brown Koenig; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 3 sisters and 3 brothers. He was predeceased by his daughter, Barbara Ann Brown; 1 sister and 1 brother.
