ELGIN- A celebration of life service for John William “Billy” Gregory, 74, will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeff Grubbs will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12-1 p.m.at the funeral home. Mr. Gregory passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Born in Newberry, he was a son of the late John William Gregory and Blondelle Robinson Koon. Mr. Gregory enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing, traveling and the beach. Surviving are his wife, Cathy Hyatt Gregory; children, Eric Gregory of Seattle; Jerry Gregory (Lisa B.) of Columbia; John Gregory (JC M.) of Lexington; Heather Gragg of Elgin; David Gregory (Lisa R.) of Buffalo; Tracy Thier (Robert, II) of Blythewood; grandchildren, Jonathon, Christian, Kayce, Haley, Zane, Robert, III, Hannah; and great-grandchildren, Caiden and Ryder.
