ELGIN – Funeral service for Betty Jo Childers Catoe, 75, will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Springvale Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Todd Horton will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Springvale Baptist Church. Mrs. Catoe, wife of the late Charles Carroll Catoe. Born in Lockhart, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Horace and Marguerite Deal Childers. She received an Associate’s Degree from Midlands Technical College and retired as a cosmetologist. She was a member of Springvale Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Catoe enjoyed gardening. Surviving are her son, William Joey Dodds of Elgin; daughters, Sheri Patton of Lugoff, Christi Catoe of Columbia, and Pamela Catoe (Chad) of Blythewood; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Gerald Lynn Dodds.
