LUGOFF – Funeral service for Doris Branham Barfield, 84, will be held on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Harvest Baptist Church with burial to follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Dulaney will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Harvest Baptist Church, 281 Wildwood Lane, Lugoff, S.C. 29078. Mrs. Barfield passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late John William and Annie Rabon Branham. She served as the Clerk of Kershaw County Council for a number of years. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Faith Builders Sunday School Class. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and reading. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, John Edward Barfield; children, John Edward “Johnny” Barfield (Pam), Mark Barfield of Lugoff, Renee Barfield Catoe (Ronnie) of Lugoff, Dana Melissa Reeder (William) of Lugoff; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Albert Branham Sr., Floyd Branham and Carl Branham; and sisters, Ethel Moseley and Thelma Louise Branham.
