COLUMBIA – Eleanor Lillian Gastgeber, 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 05, 2017. Born in Perth Amboy, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Dahl Dworak. Mrs. Gastgeber was the wife of the late Vendel Gastgeber. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Brener (Andrew) of Elgin; son, James Gastgeber of Columbia; grandchildren, Benjamin Brener (Dena), Abby Hughes (Matt), Kate Paull (Jared), Nicholas Brener (Chloe); and 5 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings, Frank Dwoark, Gloria Salkowitz, Violet Lucas and Sallie Kubick. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
