STOCKBRIDGE, GA- Rita Elizabeth Goodman, 61 of Stockbridge, GA died December 13, 2017. She was born in New Bern, N.C. on March 6, 1956, to the late Walter Meek Williams and Elizabeth Thompson Williams. Rita was raised in Camden, S.C. and graduated from Camden High School. She was 10th in her graduating class and also in Who's Who in National Society. She graduated from USC with a Master’s Degree in Psychology. She became an adoption agent for Clayton County DFACS in Georgia and in 2008 she won the National Adoption Agent of the year. Rita is survived by her husband, James Robert Goodman III; sons, Dakota Goodman (Amberley), Dallas Goodman of Stockbridge, GA; a sister, Anita Gardner of Columbia, SC; 3 nephews; 6 great nieces and nephews; uncle, Foy Thompson (Jean); aunt, Izzy Thompson Connell (JC); and numerous cousins. A visitation will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
