LUGOFF – A graveside service, with full military honors, for Douglas W. Compton, 75, will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Mr. Compton passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017. Born in Model, TN, he was the son of the late Jack Spiceland Compton and Mary Evelyn Perry Compton. After retiring from the U.S. Army, Ft. Jackson, he moved to Dover, TN where he lived for 20 years. He then spent the last 12 years living in Lugoff, SC where he enjoyed fishing. Surviving are his wife, Renate A. Compton; son, James (Terri) Compton; granddaughter, Allison Compton; brother, Charles (Joyce) Compton. He was predeceased by his daughter, Leslie Compton; and 4 brothers.
