ELGIN – Mrs. Carman passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Born in Fairfield County, S.C., on September 17, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Doris Grigg. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant UMC and enjoyed reading. Surviving are her children, Marion (Donna) Carman and Gussie Carman Folk; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Sammie M. Carman; son, Sammie W. Carman; brother, James Grigg. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant UMC, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 - 11:30 a.m at the church.
