Obituary of Charlie S. Branham
ELGIN – Funeral service for Charlie Samuel Branham, 82, will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund.
Mr. Branham passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018. Born in Richland County, he was the son of the late Purdy Nick and Annie Ivey Branham. He retired from Hewitt Robins where he was a machinist and worked at the recycling center in Elgin for 12 years.
Mr. Branham was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was an avid Clemson fan and enjoyed watching football, baseball and NASCAR. He also enjoyed working in the yard and fishing. Mr. Branham started his morning off at Bojangles in Elgin fellowshipping with his friends.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Rose Moak Branham; his children of 51 years, Jimmy Leo Moak (Kathy) of Elgin, Brenda Erickson of Elgin, Richard Moak (Sherry) of Elgin, and Wade Allen Moak (Pam) of Murrells Inlet; his nephew who he helped raise, Pete Branham (Sarah) of Lugoff; sisters, Mary Alice Smith of Elgin and Johnnie Mae Bradford of Elgin; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-children; 2 great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Roy Branham.
