ELGIN – Funeral service for Eugene Earle, 84, will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Raines Cemetery, Blythewood. The Rev. Charles Miller will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Earle died on Friday, February 2, 2018. Born in Wallahala, he was the son of the late Walter Earle and Vera Welch. He served in the United States Army and retired from Veteran Affairs. He enjoyed metal detecting, selling at the flea markets, and playing the guitar with grandsons. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Desaree Raines Earle; sons, Steve and Grettle Earle of Lugoff and Mike and Michelle Earle of South Congaree; daughters, Terry and Marty Hall of Blythewood and Beth and Mike Dilback of Columbia; 13 grandchildren, Alison, Michael Paul, Michael T., Julie, Mallory, Sarah, Matt, Casey, Derek, Tyler, Josh, Paige and Zack; and 17 great-grandchildren.
