ELGIN – A celebration of life service for Courtney Marie Johnson, 23, will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association. Courtney passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of Mark Douglas and Kimberly Ann Johnson. Courtney was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High School and received an Associate in Nursing from Central Carolina Technical College. She enjoyed monograming, baking, outdoors, and spending time with friends and family. Surviving are her parents, Mark and Kimberly Johnson of Elgin; and a brother, Trent Johnson of Elgin. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the numerous family members, friends and strangers who gave support, love, and encouragement throughout her hard fought battle with cancer.
