CAMDEN – Funeral service for Robert Wayne Aldrich, 71, will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Larry Newman will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Church In The Garden. Mr. Aldrich passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Herbert W. Aldrich Sr. and Ruby Christine Huffman Aldrich. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and retired from DuPont where he was an electrician. He was a member of Church In The Garden where he was a deacon. Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Sadie Mae Newman Aldrich; sons, Robert W. Aldrich Jr. of San Antonio, Texas and Jonathan Glenn Aldrich (Lucy) of Coppras Cove, Texas; step-children, Wanda Lynn Watkins (Johnny), Melanie Stevenson and Anthony G. Davis; brothers, Herbert W. “Bud” Aldrich Jr. (Mary) and N. Robin Aldrich; sisters, Cynthia Shannon (Jerry) and Dona LeGrand (Joel); and 29 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a step-son, Jimmy Davis; brother, Timothy M. Aldrich; step-grandson, James Robert "Robbie" Stevenson.
