Obituary of Murray Brown Hudson

LUGOFF - Memorial service for Murray Brown “M.B.” Hudson, 76, will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at Ann Hudson’s residence 126 Falcon Crest Drive, Lugoff, S.C. Memorials may be made to Kershaw County Medical Center Oncology Department. Mr. Hudson died Thursday, October, 29 2008. He was born November 24, 1931 in the Hannah Community of Florence County, where he attended Florence County Public Schools. He was a son of the late Toy and Vivian Prosser Hudson. Mr. Hudson retired, after 20 years service from McLean Trucking Company as a maintenance supervisor. He owned and operated Lugoff Truck Service; was co-owner of Ann’s Kitchen; worked as a Crossing Guard at Wateree Elementary School for the Kershaw County Sherriff Department. He loved working with children and coached little league football for 12 years for the Kershaw County Recreational Department. He also was a former member of the Kershaw County Rescue Squad. He is survived by his daughter, Judy Karen (Eldridge) Truett; sons, Murray Clyde (Donna) Hudson and Randall “Craig” (Gina) Hudson all of Lugoff; grandchildren, Tiffany Ann (Chris) Smith of Elgin, Kimberly Renee Truesdale, and Murray Caleb Hudson of Lugoff; great-grandchildren, Christopher Duane Smith and Nicholas Alexander Smith of Elgin; sister, Lou Ella Blackwell of Pamplico; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was also survived by the mother of his children, Clytie Ann Brown Hudson; and his companion, Cathy G. Morris. He was predeceased by a grandson, Murray Colin Hudson; sister, Rosa Lee Elliott; brothers, Lardell Hudson and Johnny Hudson.
