CAMDEN – A funeral service to celebrate the life of Edward Duncan Marshall, 82, of Camden, S.C. will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Hermitage Baptist Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Mark Hopkins will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Hermitage Baptist Church Legacy of Faith Fund. Mr. Marshall passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. Born in Camden, S.C. on March 31, 1936 he was the son of the late William Howard Marshall, Sr. and Virginia Ruth Christmas Marshall. Edward was a veteran of the S.C. Air National Guard and U.S. Air Force, and a member of Masonic Lodge #29 and a member of the York Rite. He was an active member of Hermitage Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and choir member. He is survived by his wife, Julia Swann Marshall; his children, Suzan Carmichael (Al) and David Marshall (Monika); grandchildren, Claudia, Megan, Sarah, Joshua, Petra and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Madison, Autumn and Sawyer; siblings, Thomas Alvin Marshall (Janet) and Jennie M. Hammond (Tommy); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, William Howard Marshall, Jr. The family would like to express appreciation to the caregivers at Springdale Nursing Home for their care over these past few months.
