LUGOFF - Funeral service for Joe Kerney Sapp,65, will be held Sunday at 3pm at Trinity Baptist Church with burial to follow in Lugoff First Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Charles Everett and Rev. Ed Stokes will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 5 to 7 pm at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation Mr. Sapp died Thursday, December 20, 2007. Born in Lyons, Ga., he was a son of Mae Belle Usher Sapp and the late Walter Thomas Sapp. He attended Georgia Tech and received his Bachelor of Science from Augusta College. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was an Engineer and had worked for Cogsdill Tools. Mr. Sapp enjoyed gardening and yard work Surviving are his wife, Dinah Pharr Sapp; daughters, Jennifer Sapp of Lugoff, Valeries Ray (Gene) of Camden; brothers, Ronald Sapp of Lyons ,Ga., Danny Sapp of Lyons, Ga.; sister, Gloria Helms of Vidalia, Ga.; grandson , Gene Ray; granddaughter, Ashton Ray; and several nephews and nieces.
