LUGOFF – Graveside service for Alether Mayes Gleaton, 89, will be held on Monday at 4:30 p.m. in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Eric Boone will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 3:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at Powers Funeral Home. Mrs. Gleaton, wife of the late Morgan L. Gleaton, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018. Born in Fairfield County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Lila Bowen Branham. She retired from Richland Memorial Hospital where she was a switch board operator. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Gleaton enjoyed crocheting and reading. Surviving are her children, Myron Gleaton (Cheryl) of Lugoff and Veonna Roberts (Calvin) of Lugoff; sister, Betty Medlin; grandchildren, Michele Mobley (Len), Lance Gleaton, Faith Roberts, Shane Roberts (Tracey), Christine Gleaton, Benny Gleaton Jr., and Dawn Anderson Wright; 9 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Benny Gleaton; 1 great-grandchild; 7 brothers and 5 sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Awana Program at Pine Grove Baptist Church.
