CAMDEN – Funeral service for Connie Ray Shoemake, 84, will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Hermitage Baptist Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev Mark Hopkins will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Hermitage Baptist Church Legacy of Faith. Mrs. Shoemake, wife of the late F. A. Shoemake, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018. Born in Cliffside, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Belton Ray and Mettie Ray Stone. She retired from DuPont and was a faithful member of Hermitage Baptist Church. She loved being involved in her church activities and was a member of Joy Sunday School Class. She enjoyed gospel music, cooking and shopping. Surviving are her daughters, Kathy Richardson (Rick) of Rock Hill and Gloria Wells (Tom) of Rock Hill; son, Farrell Shoemake (Sheila) of Elgin; sister, Doris Brown of Lugoff; brothers, Bobby Stone (Kathy) of Gilbert and David Stone of Elgin; 6 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
