My family and I were blessed to be able to add his family now into our family as well making it more special. Uncle Lee's life was truly blessed by each of you. Bass Family: Wow, I miss you guys. Brother Bass was one of the sweetest and humblest men I have ever pastored. I am so honored that you asked me to help with his funeral. I know you guys will truly miss him. Sara Ann, you are strong and you will survie. Just remember what I told you, as long as you live - his memory will live. He lives on in you all. Truly Heaven is sweeter with him there.
I love you all,
Pastor HIcks

I have many fond memories from my childhood of Uncle Lee and Aunt Jerrie. They include summer vacations in Gatlinburg and other mountain destinations, Christmas when there was a present for each of us kids from them, playing house under the Chestnut trees with Mary Ann, the day that lightning struck their house during a summer thunderstorm, standing on top of the hill in front of their house and waving to the Army convoys going up the highway during the Vietnam War, Mary Ann's wedding day at PaPa and Granny Frye's, the birth of the triplets, and so many more. But that chapter of Uncle Lee's life was filled with more loss and sorrow than one man deserved. I am so grateful that Sara Ann came into his life and gave him the family and joy that slipped from him in those early years. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." - Psalm 37:25

Mr Bass was the sweetest man. Our family has shared some wonderful times with him and his family. We considered him a true friend. There are so many wonderful memories, playing and singing with him and Dewey is one of my favorites....Gene and Bobby always loved talking to him and listening to the stories he told and Kylie...well she just loved him. When you entered the Bass home you felt like a part of the family.
Few people have the priviledge of meeting someone like Mr. Bass...We are so thankful that we were blessed with knowing him and his family.
We love you all.
Bobby, Lisa, Gene and Kylie

Many good memories were made with Lee when he was married to Jerrie. Unfortunately, the good memories are peppered with the loss of his children and Jerrie's long illness and death at such a young age. Like Job, Lee's loss was rewarded with his life with Sarah Ann and children and grandchildren that were his pride and joy. The entire Frye family joins you in celebrating his life. Illness will prevent us from attending the visitation and funeral but our thoughts and prayers will be with each of you.

I deeply regret that I did not spend enough time with Uncle Lee and his family. Even though I did not see him much he was often in my thoughts. I loved him deeply and will always remember the good times we had. He was a good man and will be welcomed in heaven. Sara Ann, you were a saving grace to a man who at one time had lost everything. Thank you for making his life full and happy again after much tragedy and sorrow. My prayers and love are with you and your family. May God Bless and keep you and be with you in the days to come. I thank God for letting me know Lee Bass. It was a priviledge and an honor to have known and loved him. AMEN
