Jim was probably the Greatest inlfuence in my life. I love him as if he was my own dad. I will move forward with the things that he taught me and make him proud. I will watch out for our fellow skydivers, and fellow soldier, as he watched out for us.
Cindy, Meg and Charity. Thank you for being who you are, because if it were not for you, he may not have been able to touch as many lives as he did.
You have my deepest and most sincere sympathy.

All young people knew they were welcome at all times--my children remember all the good times at your home and the guidance Jm always offered. He will be missed by all and we will miss him this year at Pirateland but I am sure he will oversee all of our activies. We were all blessed to know such a wonderful and caring person. Jim was a "real" genuine man. He loved people and was loved by all. I never hesitated to call Jim when I needed anything and he never let me down. Some of my fondest memeories of him were when he coached in the softball open leagues. Due to his leadership and recruiting skills his teams not only were winners, but had tremendous fun beating you!
He will be sorely missed within this communtiy. God Bless You All.

Our sympathy to all the family.Jim did the plumbing for five new homes that we built,and did repair work for us. He did a great job,but more importantly,he became a real friend. We never had a dis agreement and Jim was always so very pleasant and witty. He was in my home six days before his death,and we were shocked when he passed,even though we knew he was having difficulties. We all lost a really fine man,and Jane and I mourn with you.

I was unaware of Jim's illness, and shocked and saddened to read of his death. I only knew him briefly in a business sense as he helped me greatly with problems we experienced in my father's (Bill Pitts') house when Dad was ill and until recently since Dad's death. When I read the obituary, I had to smile thinking of the love that was behind the words of his family. Although I hardly knew Jim in our few encounters together, it reminded me of how he always felt more like family to me when he was in our home. He referred to me on our first meeting as "Em", something only my closest friends call me. I can still hear him returning my calls with "Hi Em, it's Jim" in that jovial tone of voice that always lifted your spirits. He was one of the most personable and amicable men I have known, and I always felt better for having been with him . Even professionally, he made you feel more than just a customer. God strengthen you in your time of loss.

This poem brought me peace when I lost my father. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
