Words cannot express the sorrow we feel. Kevyns is an amazing young man. We love each of you so much. Our hearts just ach to think of how hard this is. Thinking of his quiet strength, his love for the outdoors and hunting. His first boots, "Ariat's" right? His original ideas....His fathers support, his mother's love and belief and wonder in all that he did. What a wonderful family that Kevyns has forever. I just keep thinking that the Lord needs him to teach those that share something in common with Kevyns. There is no doubt the kind of missionary that he is and will become as he continues to serve. Merle hasn't said much, but her tears have. We want you to know how much we love you all. Love, The Park Family

His strong spirit was deeply felt, and I believe that he touched each one of the others in a profound way. I was honored to have known such a courageous young man and was able to be a part of his life as his Sunday School teacher. He has truly touched my life. John, you may remember me from Voice Male Concerts. I am Lois Madsen's friend. I heard about the loss of your son, Kevyns and I'm aware of his health condition over the years.
I am deeply saddened by his passing. Since I have worked with artrifical heart development here in Utah, I was hopeful that things may have worked out for the better. I have worked with Dr. Long who does heart transplants at LDS hospital, and hopefully Kevyns effort in working with the hospital to promote fund raising will not be in vain. The loss of child brings such heart ache, at times I know you will feel overwhelmed in sorrow. Please know that there are times of peace and hope ahead that come from the Spirit that make it possible to go on and even feel happiness again. That empty place in your lives will always be there, as noone can take the place of such a son as Kevyns, but with your faith and knowledge of God's plan, you will find that is ok. You will meet him again as you are an eternal family. Your family has always been special to us and our prayers and faith on your behalf will continue.

As you remember from our days in Photodup at the Family History Library, young Kevyns would come by after school to be with you for a few minutes. He would always come over to my corner and say "hi" and give me that incredible smile. Then we'd shoot rubberbands across the room. I know he was loved by all the "grandmas" we worked with. I had the honor of being a part of Kevyns life since he lived in Camden. He taught me how to look at the Earth and the blessings I've been given. Though at this time it is still hard, the most comforting part is that I know we will see him again. He is here watching over us and living he's really living now. Kevyns always talked about serving a mission and he did, we were his mission. He is continuing that on the other side. As he once told me, "Try not to dwell on the bad because every breath we have is a gift from our Heavenly Father and if we turn to Him we can not fall." My prayer are with you. Some are members of his family and some are strangers who will be drawn by his love and compassion for them. I am sure you will feel his presence as he prompts you to do the work on this side for people he touches on the other side. Dear Luthy Family,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We lost our son 6 years ago, so have some idea of what you're feeling. Be sure to watch for the Miracles, and record them--because they will come. There will be times when you wonder how you can go on, and then you will literally feel Heavenly Father's arms around you and hear Him say, "I didn't prevent this, but I'm trying to make it as easy on you as possible. I love you!"
John, I remember when you and Joey were in Primary together. It doesn't seem possible that you are old enough to have to go through something like this. Please know how much we care.

John and Valerie, please accept my love and condolences. I'm grateful to have been able to meet Kevyns when he came to help John with the curry at the international food fair at the law school. I was taken with what an intelligent, kind and capable young man he was. This world is richer for his having been among us, and the next world holds special joy when families are reunited. Please know that you will be in my prayers and in my heart.

John and Valerie, It was my honor to be confirmed (on Facebook) as Kevyns' friend not long ago. Thank you for including me in these notices. As Barbara reads them with me and observes the great preparations of those who will travel to Camden, she is beginning to understand the scope of yours and Kevyns' influence on the Christensen family--and so many others. I know your relationship with such a unique and advanced being will continue to bless you and his sister. May the knowledge and hope of that sustain you now. Love, Uncle Dan

I am so saddened by the loss of kevyns. He was a spectacular young man, whom brought a smile to my face every day that I saw him. Nothing ever brought him down. He endured two long years at musc with us and through it all he kept his faith and trust in us and I wish that I could thank him for that. As I said before Kevyns made me be a better nurse and I hope that he rests in peace. I am keeping your family in my hearts and prayers. May God be with you.....Laura Shieder 7c RN

Dear Luthy family,
What can we say…we were shocked and saddened by the news we received yesterday. We think the world of your family and especially Kevyns. Your family has struggled much over the years but as you know it was not in vain. Kevyns is an example to all of those who know him, and example of strength, patience, longsuffering and pure joy. I can’t imagine what it’s like to lose a child, but how grateful we are to know about the great plan of salvation and of the principle of eternal families! You have a special family that will continue to grow in strength. I know that the Lord will continue to bless your family, and especially with a little extra help from Lord’s side. You are all in our prayers. We miss you and may God bless you!
With Love, the Johnsons.

Dear John & Valerie,
I'm Mike Bearden's mom. I feel your loss and pray for God's choicest blessings to be with you at this time and in the days to come. Having lost an infant baby and a beloved spouse, I know what you are feeling and I cry with you. Thanks for sharing the beautiful video and words from Kevyns. I found the words to the song and sent them to all of my children. My eyes are full of tears as I watch the video. He couldn't have had a better dad, John. Know that I love you.

I had the priviledge and honor of meeting Kevyns while serving as President in YW in Ridgeway Ward. I was very impressed with him from the first day I met him. Observing him and the other youth, there was something about him that stood out from the rest. He was an exceptional young man who will be greatly missed. TO HIS FAMILY: We also lost our son almost 4 years ago. We are sealed for time and all eternity and know he is our's forever. We will pray for you for strength and courage to face each day as you coop with the loss of this precious soul. Take comfort in knowing where he is and what he is doing. Dear Luthy Family,
We are so saddened to hear of the loss of Kevyns. I have thought about him a lot since you moved. I miss my long chats with Kevyns out over the fence while I cleaned the corral. I miss his sense of humor. I miss his insights into the world. Kevyns has always been one of my favorite young men, and I loved that he was never too "cool" to talk to an old lady like me. He was a tenderhearted young man and had a very positive outlook on life. I learned a lot from him, and am glad to know that we will all get to see him again. Our thoughts and prayers have been and will continue to be with you and your family. Love, Matt and Kami

Your son and your family have influenced the lives of many people for good, as evidenced by the caring concern expressed by those still in Herriman. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful obituary and tribute to Kevyns. It touched my heart, helping me to remember the sublime beauties in life that are most important.
