ELGIN - A private family graveside service was held Wednesday in Greenlawn Memorial Park Northeast. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Mrs. Ross died Monday, April 6, 2009. Born in Richland County, she was a daughter of the late John Thurmond Motley and Pluma Abbott Motley. Surviving are her husband of 70 years, J.L. Ross; son, Roger Ross; daughters, Patsy Cowart, Joanne Medley, and Millicent Chitwood; sister, Wilma Campbell; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandchild. The family would like to thank the devoted caregivers.
