SUMTER - Funeral service for Thomas C. (Tommy) Simmons, Jr., 44, will be held Wednesday at 12:00 noon at Bethesda Church of God, Sumter with burial to follow in the White’s Cemetery. Rev. H. Albert Sims, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to the Bethesda Church of God, 2730 Broad St, Sumter. Mr. Simmons died Thursday, April 16, 2009. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son Thomas Simmons, Sr. of Sumter and the late Marie Witherspoon Simmons. Surviving are his wife, Yolanda Simmons; sons, Tyrick Simmons and James Campbell; daughters, Sharday Simmons, Dajanaira Simmons and Nicole Willis all of Philadelphia, PA.
