ELGIN-Funeral service for Sarah S. Martin, 77, will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff with burial to follow in Elmwood Memorial Garden and Cemetery, Columbia, S.C. Rev. Otis Lee will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mrs. Martin, wife of the late Wilbert Martin, Sr., died Thursday, July 16, 2009. Born in Columbia, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Ernest Lee, Sr. and Ollie Ford Lee. She enjoyed Gardening. Surviving are her sons, Wilbert T. (Kathy) Martin, Jr. of Lexington, S.C., and Gary Martin of Elgin; daughters, Cathy (Jimmy) Richardson of Lugoff, Jackie (Joe) Auker of Lugoff, and Shirley Suarez of Elgin; siblings, Authur Lee, Junior (Lila) Lee, Ruth Martin, Lois Boyd, Margaret Grimsley, and Marie Vick; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchild; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Nezzie Boyd and a great-grandson, Ethan Lynch.
