ELGIN – Funeral services for Joseph Louis Ruffing, 75, will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Rowan Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Phil McCoy will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rowan Presbyterian Church. Mr. Ruffing, husband of the late Gail Louise Ruffing, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Born in Pittsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph Louis and Margaret Vera Harbough Ruffing. He served in the United States Marine Corp in Korea. He was a member of the Marine Corp League Attachment 1146 in Camden and Rowan Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his children, Wilma Hutto (Bruce), Michael Ruffing, Jeffrey Ruffing, Dianna Hutto (Bryan), and Kathleen Ruffner (Andrew); sister, Mary Louise Lingenfelter; grandchildren, William Mahoney, Richard Rhubert Jr., April Orton, Abigail Gallimore-Russell (Dave), Joseph A. Ruffing (Jennifer), Amanda Porterfield (Joel), Justin Ruffing, Gregory Ruffner, Layne Ruffner, Evan Ruffing, Cierra Ruffing, and Matthew Ruffner; and great-grandchildren, Belicia H. Gallimore, Mikenzee Ruffing, Samuel Ruffing, Gabrielle Russell, Wyatt Porterfield, and Henry Ruffing.
