CASSATT - Funeral service for James Earl Romanow, 80, will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jack Cobb will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mr. Romanow, husband of the late Elaine V. Romanow, died Tuesday, September 01, 2009. Born in Johnstown, Pa., he was a son of the late John and Ernestine Romanow. He served in United States Air Force and retired from the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed gardening and playing the guitar. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia J. “Patty” and Tom Seigle of Warner Robins, Ga.; brother, Charlie Romanow; grandchildren, Donna Valade, Sean Seigle, Kelly Seigle, and Dan Seigle; and great-grandchildren, Atheena, Brittenee and Brandon Valade, Zoie and Sidney Seigle, and Ryder and Candice Seigle. He was predeceased by brothers, Al Romanow, Bill Romanow, Steve Romanow; and sisters, Roberta Walenski and Josephine Fowler. Mr. Romanow also leaves behind his long time companion and best friend, Lela Mae Hough of Cassatt; her children, Tim (wife Patricia) Hough of Cassatt, Mary Jo (husband Steve) Smith of Summerville, and Norma (husband Al) Crosby of Sumter; grandchildren, Joel Crosby, Karen Music, Lisa Hough, Michele Heaston, Joel Hough, and Brian Hough; and great-grandchildren, Amanda and Taylor Music, Jordan and Cameran Smith, Christopher and Jonathon Crosby, and Olivia and William Heaston. Jim will be greatly missed and always remembered by those closest to him.
