Obituary of Herbert J Campbell
ELGIN - Funeral service for Herbert Jackson “Bud” Campbell, Sr., 69, will be held Sunday at 3:00 pm at El-Bethel Faith Community Church, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. Rev. Joe Stines and Rev. Marvin Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 4-6 pm at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association.
Mr. Campbell died Thursday, April 12, 2007. Born in Bristol, Tenn., he was the son of A.W. Campbell and the late Hattie Lee Richard. He worked for Waste Management. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycles Association (Truth Riders) and enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Campbell was a member of El-Bethel Faith Community Church.
Surviving are his wife of 11 years, Brenda Hatley Campbell; sons, Herbert Jackson “Jack” Campbell, Jr. and his wife, Beth of Charlotte, N.C., and Charles A. “Tony” Campbell and his wife, Robbie of Elgin; stepdaughter, Mary Melton and her husband, Kenny of Elgin; stepson, Billy Key and his wife, Sherry of Blythewood; bothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and June Campbell of Red Bank, Bob and Von Campbell of South Congaree, and Dean and Cathy of Sommerset, Ky.; sisters, Helen Smith and her husband, Chalmer of Bristol, Va., Ann Hubbard of Greenville, Tenn., and Alene Jones and her husband, Ted of Greenville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Robert Charles Campbell, Kristin Nicole Campbell, Hannah Rose Campbell, Katelyn Dean, Megan Dyson, and Dawson Lee; brother-in-law, Mark Hatley and his wife, Harriet of Columbia; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Bill Campbell; and sister, Darlene Hicks.
