CARLESS MITCHELL LUGOFF – Funeral services for Carless Eugene Mitchell, 64, will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Brian Ogburn will officiate. The Family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. Mr. Mitchell passed away Monday, May 20. 2013. Born in Beckley, WV, he was the son on the late Joe and Loretta Maddis Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell retired from the U.S. Army after 23 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Maria Ernst Mitchell; sons, Donny Mitchell (Sherry), Floyd Mitchell (Robin); daughter, Crystal Twite (Dean), brothers, Cecil Mitchell, Jeffrey Mitchell; sisters, Idella Young, Drema Cole, Brenda Potter, Donna Cole, ,Melva Brunty; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, Carless J. Mitchell, John Mitchell; and a daughter, Julie Loretta Mitchell.
