CASSATT – A memorial service for Charles William Sims, 73, will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter, 460 Fair Street, Camden, S.C. 29020. Mr. Sims died Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Born in Winnsboro, he was the son of the late Robert Perry and Sarah Knotts Sims. He retired from Kendall Mill where he was a security guard. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Brazell Sims; daughters, Nina Sims, Lucy Sims, Diane Bass, Shirley Sims, Deborah Taylor and Norma Boone; brothers, David Sims and C.W. Sims; sisters, Carolyn Smith, Mary Ann Watts, Wendy Sims, and Betty Jo Sims; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Charles W. Sims Jr.; brother, Dale Sims; and one grandson.
