CAMDEN - Funeral service for Phillip Dewayne Akers, 58, will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Freddie Wilson will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Mr. Akers died Sunday, May 09, 2010. Born in Marion, Ohio, he was a son of the late Evan and Imolatta Parsons Akers. Surviving are his brother, Kenneth R. Akers of Camden; uncle, Freddy Parsons of Scotsdale, Arizona; aunts, Mary Stapleton and Catherine Conley of Marion, Ohio; nephew, Dewayne Blevins of Woodland, Calif.; nieces, Darlene Riker of Lugoff, Jennifer Gibson of Woodland, Calif., Stephanie Andrade of Mocksville, N.C., Megan Andrade of Mocksville, N.C., and Ashley Andrade of Mocksville, N.C.; and special friend, Sallie Snider of Camden.
