LUGOFF - Funeral service for Anthony “Tony” Murphy, 49, will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at St. Matthew Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Charles Davis will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mr. Murphy died Saturday, July 10, 2010. Born in Lugoff, he was a son of the late Jerry and Leila Thomas Murphy. Surviving are his wife, Thomasina Flowers Murphy; step-children, Shana Canzater (Calvin), Shemekia Grant (Alex), and Shelton Brown (Andrea); sister, Geraldine Ruffin, Edith Montgomery, and Patricia Brown; brother, Ronnie Murphy, Charles Murphy, Cleveland Murphy, and Richard Murphy; 6 grandchildren; and numerous niece and nephews.
