COLUMBIA-Funeral service for Thomas Williams, Sr., 67, will be held Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Lugoff First Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Victory Junction Gang. Mr. Williams died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at his home. Born in Camden, he was a son of the late Leroy and Ila Mae Boone Williams. Married forty-seven years to the love of his life, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed life to the fullest engaging in many activities including gardening and cooking. He was passionate about his career in masonry contracting, building a very successful business throughout his life. He also had great admiration for his Yorkie Savannah. Though he did not get to spend the time he wanted to with his nieces and nephews, he adored them greatly. Surviving are his “little bride”, Margie J. Williams; son, Thomas “Tommy” Williams, Jr. (Tammy) of Hopkins; grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Williams, Brittany Michelle Williams, Thomas “Tripp” Williams III, Chandler Bryce Williams, Carson Palmer Williams, and Mackenzie Carol Williams; brothers, Marion L. Williams (Deb) of Lugoff, Johnny L. Williams of Lugoff, Carl E. Williams (Connie) of Lugoff, and Dwight Williams (Brenda) of Bethune; and sisters, Dottie Anderson of Lugoff, Shirley Thornburg (Eddie) of Charlotte, N.C., Brenda Ray (Tommy) of Lugoff, and Claudine Armentrout (Carroll Lee) of Cassatt. He was predeceased by brother, David Williams; and brother-in-law, Lonnie Anderson.
