BISHOPVILLE - Funeral service for Charles Henry “PeeWee” Hayes, 61, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Gene Stokes and Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorial may be made to Cancer Treatment Center of America, 10109 East 79th Street, Tulsa, OK 74133. Mr. Hayes died Monday, August 30, 2010. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Robert L. and Lucille Wallace Hayes. He served two tours in Vietnam in the United States Army. He was employed with Rexam Beverage in Bishopville. Mr. Hayes enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing, and golfing. Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Belinda Simon Hayes; sons, Charles David Hayes (Denise) of Camden, Charles Scott Hayes (Lanette) of Elgin, Terry Hayes of Bishopville, Joe Grantham (Donna) of Bishopville, Ashley Grantham (Christie) of Lugoff, and Anthony Hall of Camden; daughter, Melinda McCaa (Michael) of Bethune; brothers, Ralph Hayes (Frances), James Hayes (Pat), Doug Hayes (Jean), Randy Hayes and Jerry Hayes; sister, Kathy Holloman and Ann Elmore; 25 grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Lee Hayes and Mac Hayes.
